TELEVISION AT AIRPORT

Closed Circuit Investigated

Closed circuit television may be used at the Christchurch .airport in the future to announce aircraft departure times and announce to passengers the availability of various airport amenities, according to Mr A. I. R. Jamieson, the airport manager. He said yesterday that investigations would soon be made on the cost and feasibility of installing such a system. In addition to paging, from time to time throughout the day spot announcements to passengers and visitors would advise them of the various facilities available in the terminal building, he said. Not only would the scheme be original, but the paging system would become a much more personal instrument.

Flight announcements, especially, would be more effective, and so reduce to a minimum the irksome necessity to repeat calls said Mr Jamieson.
