WHANGAREI CHOSEN

Oil- Refinery Site

(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 3.

Marsden Point, Whangarei, has been chosen by the oil companies concerned for the £2O million oil refinery, the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) said ait New Plymouth tonight.

Mr Nash said a letter he had received from the representatives of the companies would be put before the Cabinet at a meeting at Wellington on Monday morning.

“I shall probably make a more detailed statement after the Cabinet meeting,” he said. Mr Nash said chemical factories would be established to deal with the by-products of the refinery.
