Sales in U.S.— American manufacturers are at last showing signs of recapturing a major portion of the sales formerly won by European cars. Over the last two months, the importation of foreign cars to America has dropped from 12 per cent to 7 per cent. The only foreign car to be maintaining its position is Volkswagen, and even its remarkable selling power is likely to be seriously challenged.
