GOLD STAR CAR RALLY
M. A. White-Johnson Wins Driving a Citroen 1.D.19. M. A. White-Johnson was placed first in the gold star car rally held by the Canterbury Car Club last week-end. He was 32 points ahead of the second placed competitor, A. N. Boustridge, of the Westland Motor Club, who was the New Zealand rallies champion last year. Mr White-Johnson the president of the Rallies and Trials Enthusiasts’ Club and has been a regular- competitor in major rallies in the South Island. The competitors finished the course about midnight and all found the course extremely interesting. The final stages of the route were over the Port Hills and through Lyttelton. Results (subject to confirmation, by the Association of New Zealand Car Clubs) are;— M. A. White-Johnson (Citroen 1.D.19) .108 points lost, 1; A. N. Boustridge (Jaguar Mk VII) 140. 2; W. Renalson (Morris Oxford), 312, 3; T. Dougherty (Austin A 35), 402, 4; C. G. Finney (Ford 300), 444, 5.
