TRADE MISSION FROM FORMOSA
Textiles And Tea For Timber And Wool
(New Zealand Press Anociation) AUCKLAND, November 2.
A 10-man trade delegation from the Republic of China reached Whenuapai from Australia to-, night with high hopes of expanding trade between Now Zealand and the Republic. “We want to export textiles, tea and vegetable oils to New Zealand In exchange for timber, dairy products, wool .and, poesibly. paper pulp,” the leader of the delegation, Mr Wen-tong Liu, said.
Mr Liu-is the general manager of the Sung-I Cotton Textile Mill. Ltd., and the other members of the group are executives of large trading concerns. All come from Taiwan. While in the Dominion they hope to meet business leaden and visit industrial plants, They will be in the country tor seven days and will visit Wellington and Christchurch. The group was met at the airport by the district officer of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Mr K. W. Davies, on behalf of the Government
