MACHINERY AWARD
One of the most jealously guarded awards the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association makes is the gold medal for new or improved farm machinery. The last one was awarded in 1955 at the last Royal Show. Since then only silver and bronze medals have been awarded by the judges. - Cost and practicability are considered by the judges in appraising the entries and they must be satisfied that the machine will function efficiently!' In the four classes open to entry there are opportunities for manufacturers or inventors to display any machine which is entirely new in its self or has some improved or new feature associated with it.
This year the entries will Include a sheep handler, potato sorter, precision seed sower, double knife mower, self-pro-pelled windrower, self-propelled harvester thresher, wool press, overdrilling attachment for discs, offset tandem disc harrows and an overdrilling coulter for ordinary drills.
