FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A weak ridge of high pressure is moving eastwards across the North Island, and a trough of low pressure is moving on to the South Island from the west. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate north to north-west winds, becoming fresh at times about the sounds late in the day; weather partly cloudy, with moderate temperatures. Outlook: unsettled; with some showers likely. West Coast.—Moderate to fresh northerly winds; cloudy, with rain spreading from the south during the day; moderate temperatures. Outlook: showers. Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds; fine, with moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy.
