Mr A. M. Satterthwaite, of Christchurch, has been reappointed to the board of directors of the Tourist Hotel Corporation, and Mr F. G. Young, of Auckland, has been appointed to replace Colonel D. D. Swan.—(PA.) Mr R. W. Smith, who has been manager of the Kaiapoi branch of the Bank of New Zealand since 1954, will retire at the end of November after more than 44 years’ service. Mr Smith joined the bank at Mataura in 1916, and after service at various South Island branches was made manager at Murchison in 1950, before his transfer to Kaiapoi. He will be succeeded at Kaiapoi by Mr W. A. Martin, who has been accountant at Greymouth since 1955.
