Murder Of Shipmate Alleged

Police in Sydney’s Central Court yesterday charged a 22-year-old Dutch seaman from the visiting aircraft carrier, Karel Doorman, with the murder of a shipmate. The Magistrate refused a request by a Dutch Consul to return the seaman in custody to the carrier for trial in Holland. Police alleged that the seaman, Gerit Anton Mulder, stabbed 25-year-old Alfons Nicholaas Villaneuva outside a nightclub in Orwell street, Potts Point, early yesterday morning. The Magistrate remanded Mulder to the Central Court on Monday and refused bail.
