Athletics Baillie Not To Go To United States
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 18. The Auckland runner, W. D. Baillie, will not make his intended trip to the United States. Bailie, who had been invited to coach and run in the major meetings of the country, said that he had found it hard to obtain a worker’s permit and that it was harder still to obtain one for his fiancee. The American offer had included only his one-way fare, and the cost of his future wife’s fare would make the trip uneconomical. Baillie will marry Miss Valerie Julion on November 19.
