Roller Skating HOCKEY MATCHES ARRANGED
Tests Against Team From Australia (New '4ealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 18. An international roller-hockey test between Australia and New Zealand will be held during the New Zealand Roller Skating Association’s annual championships in Wellington from December 28 to January 7. More than 500 entries are expected for the various skating events. Teams from Queensland and New South Wales, as well as from Auckland, lawke’s Bay, Hamilton, Manawatu, Hutt, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago, will take part in the national roller-hockey teams championships on the final four days of the meeting. The Australian selectors will then pick an Australian representative roller-hockey side to meet New Zealand in the first test at Wellington on January 7. The second test will be at Palmerston North, the third at Napier, and the fourth in Auckland. New Zealand plans to send a team of at least 20 skaters to the world congress championships in Japan in 1962.
