VOTES FOR ROADS AND BRIDGES

Separate Allocations Next Year (New Zealand Press Association) GISBORNE, October 18. Separate allocations for reading and bridging would be made by the National Roads Board, next financial year, the Director of Roading (Mr P. L. Laing) told the No. 4 District Roads Council in Gisborne today. “The board has realised local bodies bridging problems are not as uniform as it supposed,” he said. It was now proposed to extract a sum from general revenue for bridging and for this reason local bodies had been asked for a three-year programme.
