N.Z. Red Cross Gives £100 To India
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 18. The New Zealand Red Cross Society has made an initial grant to its sister society in India of £lOO after extensive seasonal flooding in that country last month. Some 5m persons were affected when flood waters inundated 5000 square miles. The grant has been forwarded through the League of Red Cross Societies in Geneva and will be used to buy urgently needed supp'ies.
The society has received a letter of appreciation from the Philippine Red Cross acknowledging receipt of a grant of £250 after a major flood disaster.
