MINOR FIRES

A small fire, thought to have been caused by faulty wiring, in a building at the United States Antarctic advance headquarters. Harewood, caused no damage. A unit from SL Albans and another from Sockburn attended the call at 6.23 p.m. yesterday. At 4.25 p.in. two units from the New Brighton fire station attended a scrub fire on a vacant section in Owles terrace, owned by the Christchurch City Council. There was no damage. Only very slight damage to the wall of a bouse at 29A Snowdon road. Fendalton, was done by a fire which was believed to have been caused by defective wiring setting insulation alight. The house is occupied by Mr J. S Hawkes. A machine from St. Albans attended the call at 6.6 a.m.
