Farewell Function To Colonel Currie
The chief engineer of the Royal New Zealand Engineers' Corps (Lieutenant-Colonel A. R Currie) was bidden farewell by officers and men of the corps at a full dress parade at the engineers’ corps depot in Riccarton road yesterday. He will retire from the Army next month Colonel Currie joined the Army tn 1937. He served overseas in the Middle East and the Italian campaigns. Remaining in the Army after the war. he became Director of the Royal Engineers in 1949 and was appointed Chief Engineer of the New Zealand Army in 1951.
