YOUTH ON MURDER CHARGE

Counsel Applies For Bail (Sew Zealand. Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 18. An application for a youth charged with murder to be released on bail was made by Mr R. Stacey, in the Magistrate’s Court in Wellington yesterday when his client, Balbir Singh, aged 17, a scrubcutter, of Hunterville, appeared on remand charged with the murder of Raj Singh at Otiwiti Station last August. The youth was charged in Wanganui shortly after the alleged offence and has been appearing regularly on remand in Wellington since then. Mr W. H. Carson, S.M., remanded Singh until tomorrow and said he would hear then the evidence Mr Stacey was prepared to call.
