N.Z. Riflemen Win Prizes
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDtCEY, Oct. 11. Six New Zealand riflemen won cash prises in the D. F. Macdonald shoot over 800 yards at Ansae range today. They were competing in the second day of the New South ’ Wales aggregate shoot.
The best of the New Zealanders was G. S. Glasgow, of Wanganui, who scored 4B out of a possible 50 from 10 shots over the distance. He was placed eleventh in the event.
Others who scored well were: J. Bennet, Timaru, IBth, with 49, G. Peagnun, Christchurch, 55th, with 48; R. Barrow, Waiau, 82nd, with 48; F. J. Black, Timaru, 121st, with 47; J. A. Scott, Timaru, 131st, also 47.
The event was won by J. B. Wohlers, Victoria. New Zealanders did not score well in today’s other events on the 700 and 900 ranges. Adverse conditions were caused by strong winds.
The first stage of the Queen's aggregate will be fired today, second stage will be tomorrow and the final on Friday.
