New Ferrari Racer

For the coming motor racing season in New Zealand, the Christchurch driver, P. M. Hoare, will be driving a very late model Ferrari racer. Mr Hoare recently returned from Italy where he visited the Ferrari factory and negotiated for the car. Mr Hoare said this week that the car had been specially built by Ferrari to suit New Zealand conditions. It will not have a current Formula I engine, but it is possible a three-litre sports car engine will be fitted in a recent grand prix body. Ferrari had been particularly impressed with his driving of his old 3-litre Ferrari, and considered him one of the most successful private Fern rari owners‘in the world, said Mr Hoare. Mr Hoare expects his new car to arrive in New Zealand early in December.
