Youth Regains Consciousness

Although still on the seriously ill list, an 18-year-old youth who fell 200 ft down a sheer rock face at Cathedral Hill, Gore Bay, on September 25. yesterday regained consciousness in the Christchurch Hospital. He is Kevin Martin, who is employed by Mr E. Rutherford, of Inverness Station, at Parnassus. His parents live at Rakaia. Martin has made "a remarkable improvement" in the last 48 hours, said the Medical Superintendent of the hospital (Dr. T. Morton) yesterday.

Mr Martin suffered a brain injury, fractured ribs and concussion in the accident.
