BOEING’S VISIT

City Airport Approved Christchurch airport has been technically approved for the proposed visit of a P >eing 707 jet airliner from Qantas in November, according to advice received by the airport manager (Mr A. I. R. Jamieson) yesterday afternoon. The Director of Civil Aviation (Sir Arthur Nevill) said: “The company proposes to operate at a greatly-reduced weight and their operations have been examined and technically approved by this administration.”

Tasman Empire Airways, agents for Qantas, had been advised of this decision and would no doubt keep interested parties in Christchurch informed. Sir Arthur Nevill said.
