YOUTH AND GIRL STILL MISSING
. Police Search Made In Bad Weather (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, October 12. The second daylight-to-dark search for a youth and a girl who have been missing from their homes in Blaketown since Sunday night, was made yesterday in bad weather. In addition to heavy rain squalls, there was a heavy electrical storm yesterday morning. Up till last evening no trace of Diane Marie Curtis, aged 16, or Peter Goodmanson, aged 19, had been found. The search will be resumed this morning. The Greymouth police party was. again in charge of Sergeant F. Flanagan who has had previous experience of mountain rescue work. In addition to the police, two experienced mountaineers are exploring the higher regions near where Gocdmanson’s car was found at Turiwhati on Monday morning. Constable W. Armstrong, of Otira, and Mr P. Croft, senior Forest Service ranger at Arthur’s Pass, will join the search parties this morning.
Because of the unfavourable conditions, the Christchurch police dog, Buck, was unable to work yesterday and, as more rain is forecast, it is likely he will be taken back to Christchurch.
