FILMING OF “SPINISTER”
Author Not Told Of Delay “The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND, October 10. The Taunangia novelist, Sylvia Ashton-Warner, has not heard why the filming of her novel, “Spinster,” has been delayed. The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer stars, Shirley MacLaine and Laurence Harvey, were to arrive in New Zealand on October 14, but it is now not known when they will come. Her husband, Mr K. D. Henderson, said that the film company had not been in touch with them. Once a book was written, he said, the role of the author was virtually ended. “We are not disappointed,” he said. “Some delays were expected.” A representative of the film company said Shooting of the film Was to begin in the United States but it was not known when work in New Zealand would begin.
