COUNSEL FOR ALGERIANS
French Lawyers Charged (N.Z. Press Association-Copyright) PARIS, October 6. Four Paris lawyers who have specialised in defending Algerian rebels in French Courts were charged yesterday with “attacking the security of the State.” It is alleged' that they had been directly appointed by the rebel National Liberation Front (F.L.N.) to defend Algerians in various French trials. The authorities are said to have acted on the basis of a document found in a recent police raid. The four lawyers are: Jacques Verges. Abdessamad ben Abdallah. Mourad Oussedik and Michelle Beauvillard. All were prominent in the defence of 26 Moslems and Frenchmen whose trial for aiding the rebel network in France ended last week. Laotion-Soviet Diplomatic Ties <ti-Z Press Association-Copyright) _ LONDON, October 8. The Government of Laos announced yesterday that there is to be an exchange of Ambassadors with the Soviet Union, ’The Times’’ reported in London. A formal announcement will be made in Vientiane and Moscow later this week.
