Pupils leaving school this year and those who have advanced their studies towards the Bachelor of Engineering Degree may apply. The minimum academic qualification will be University Entrance plus a further year in the upper sixth form gaining Higher School Certificate. Preference will, however, be given to those who have obtained good marks in the University Entrance Scholarship Examination. An award will also be offered to enable study for B.E. (Metalluri?y) at the University of Otago. The awards will be continued annually for full-time study to complete the Bachelor of Engineering degree provided satisfactory progress is maintained.
