A Radio Interview

Sir,—lt is fortunate that few overseas artists are subjected to the type of barrage heard on the YC stations on Saturday evening when the wqrld-famous coloratura soprano, Rita Streich, submitted to 20 minutes of continual interruption. This so-called "interview,” broadcast during the interval of a National Orchestra concert, was almost entirely taken up with the interviewer striving to air his own knowledge. He thought nothing of butting in, so long as his own point was made clear. I would ask the Director of Broadcasting why this mar was chosen for the job, as our announcers have set a standard which was definitely not maintained in this case.— Yours, etc, M.G.W.
