AID TO ALGERIAN UNDERGROUND
Sixteen Sentenced To Imprisonment

The French military tribunal trying French and Moslem men and women for aiding the Algerian rebel underground in France sentenced 16 of them to imprisonment for t?rms of up to 10 years last night. Nine others were acquitted, British United Press reported. Francis Jeanson, leader of the alleged "support network" for the rebels, was sentenced in absentia to the maximum of 10 years in prison, a 70.000 franc (£5000) fine, five years of banishment from France, and loss of his citizen's rights.
Three others were sentenced in absentia. All those convicted were heavily fined and sentenced to loss of civil rights.
