SHOOTING AT POLICEMAN
Youth For Trial (N.Z. Press MELBOURNE, October 2. A 15-year-old blonde schoolgirl told Dandenong Court ot Petty Sessions today that a youth facing two shooting charges “acted like a spurned lover with a lot of bravado” after her mother told him not to see her again. Dagnija Strazdihs was giving evidence in the case of a Dutch migrant, Hendrikus Antonius Greven, aged 19, who was committed. for trial on two charges of having shot at a policeman in Dandenong High School on September 20. The girl’s mother, Vera Strazdins, told the Court Greven. became angry and said: “No-one will stop me seeing her.” when she rejected his request that she allow him to keep company with her daughter. Police said Greven went to Dandenong High School to wait for the girl early on September 20, barricaded himself in a classroom with a rifle, and fired when they tried to get him out. Constable P. A. Wulf said one bullet from Greven’s rifle missed his head by only 2in.
