South Africa’s Prime Minister (Dr. Verwoerd) yesterday expressed "full confidence” that his fellow-countrymen would vote next Wednesday to become a republic. Addressing about 10.000 people at the winding up rally in his republican campaign he claimed the anti-republicans had fought an unfair fight. But he appealed to his followers "not to let this fill you with hatred, because w» need unity.”
