Union Demand In Sydney IN.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, October 3. More than 100,000 persons lined Sydney streets today to watch the six-hour day procession. Waterside workers marched in convict uniforms and leg-irons In protest against the proposed Commonwealth Crimes Act amendments. The Seamen's Union’s banner depicted a passenger ship labelled “Australian Freedom” being attacked by a submarine tabbed “Commonwealth Crimes Act.” Right-wing union slogans concentrated on demands for “a 35hour week to combat automation” and “four weeks’ annual leave.” The' march was led by the New South Wales Premier, Mr Heffron,
