CAR HITS POLE

Four Persons Escape Four persons escaped with slight injuries when the car in which they were travelling struck a power pole in Riccarton road, outside the Disabled Servicemen’s Centre about 1 a.m. yesterday The occupants were Adrian Turner, of 404 Avonside drive, who suffered shock. John Turner, of 32 Rossall street, concussion, Terry Spiers, 18 Vickerys road, head injuries, and Miss Barbara Ferguson, 8 Thornycroft street, slight concussion. All four were sent home after treatment at the Christchurch Hospital. A passenger in a car which overturned in Wairakei road, near Wooldridges road, at 3.30 a.m. on Saturday, suffered head injuries and was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. He is Mr W. Hutton, of 29 Everest street His condition last evening was satisfactory. The driver, Mr D. R. Mace, was sent home after treatment for minor injuries.
