Four Titles Out Of Eight

Wellington emerged as the Dominion’s top wrestling province at the 1960 title meeting which concluded in Christchurch on Saturday night. With eight titles to be won, Wellington had finalists in six of them. The Wellington team took four first places, compared with two each by Canterbury and Auckland.

The Smale-Humphrey Shield for interprovincial competition was awarded to the Wellington team; Auckland, with three run-ners-up compared with Canterbury’s two, was declared the second province on a count-back The 1960 titleholders, with run-ners-up shown in parenthesis, are as follows: Fly-weight.—G.
