LIQUOR SUPPLIED TO MINORS
“Grave Concern” Of Women’s Council (New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON N„ Sept. 30. The easy access of minors to liquor was of grave concern to the National Council of Women at its final session today at Palmerston North. Other laws were enforced upon minors, but they were abie to obtain liquor, delegates said. Some deplored the fact that even parents were responsible for supplying their children with liquor. Recent widely publicised disturbances were, in the main, largely due to the sale of liquor to young people, one speaker said. It was decided to ask the Government to enforce the law prohibiting the sale of liquor to any persons under the age of 21 in any place or at any time. It was also stressed that many beverages sold to children have a definite alcoholic content.
