PRODUCTIVITY OF N.Z.

Comparison With Other Countries

The outstanding success of a film currently being made available throughout New Zealand to various organisations and sections of the community interested in this country’s productivity compared with other parts of the world showed that the average New Zealander had an alert regard for factors affecting his standard of living, said the District Superintendent of the Labour Department in Christchurch (Mr C. P. Collins) yesterday. The film, “Productivity, the Key to Plenty,” is being sponsored by the New Zealand Industrial Advisory Council. It tells how production an hour is related to the standard of living of a community. and also deals with New Zealand’s productivity in relation to other countries. Screenings of the film have been given through the Labour Department officers in the four main centres to-factory workers’ groups, and to employers’ and workers’ organisations and others. Mr Collins said many hundreds of local persons had seen the film, which had received much favourable comment.
