“Protection Of Lumumba”

Colonel Mobutu, the Congo’s “strong man," today said that the United Nations was preventing him from arresting the Congo leader. Mr Patrice Lumumba.
“I have sent a strong protest to the United Nations for extending their protection to Lumumba,” he said.
“I consider Ghanaian troops are interfering in interna] Congolese affairs," he added.
Mr Lumumba is staying at his official residence, guarded by Ghanaian troops, said British United Press.
Unconfirmed reports said that Colonel Mobutu intended to arrest Mr Lumumba yesterday on a warrant issued several days ago by President Kasavubu.
