GREYMOUTH FINANCES
Improvement In
Position
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, September 1. “We are In a better position today than we have been for many years, and we owe no debts at all,” said the treasurer (Mr J. P. Low) at the annual meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club on Wednesday evening.
Mr Low said all debenture holders had been repaid, the holders having foregone two years’ interest which meant a saving of £3OO. The treasurer said that some of the debts had stood for years. The balance-sheet would not have been so good except for the unpaid work members of the committee did around the course.
Mr Low said that the club had shown a profit last year of £322. as against a loss of £2OO the previous year, and £l7OO in the season before that.
