B. E. Woolf Back From Overseas

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 31. Armed wtih eight rackets, the Auckland lawn tennis player, B. E. Woolf, today returned from an overseas visit which, he said, was an invaluable experience. The most thrilling tour on the five month tour was when he met N. A. Fraser in the final of the Frinton tourney. He lost 6-4, 6-2. New Zealanders benefited overseas. said Woolf, though many, particularly Miss Ruia Morrison, found the changes from hard to grass courts detrimental. ’’All the young New Zealanders, particularly R. Hawkes. J. Clarke and J. Lockington, showed a lot of improvement,” he said. “But it is very tough over there. You just have to keep going back every year and fight your way up.’’
