Killer Dogs May Have Been Caught

The two killer dogs which destroyed and injured sheep in the Burwood and Shirley areas recently may have been captured by the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

A brindled Alsatian bitch and a black, tan and white collie are being held at the Wilmers road home of the society. Early in August the Alsatian was picked up in Bower avenue and the collie was apprehended in Coopers road. Since they have been held in captivity there have been no further reports of sheep being attacked. The dogs, which have not been claimed, would be held at the home for an indefinite period, said the manager (Mr L. Glanville) yesterday.
