SOUTH ISLAND CADETS RETURN FROM BRITAIN.—A photograph taken at the Christchurch airport yesterday of four of the school cadets who represented New Zealand at the recent centennial celebrations of the cadet forces in Britain. From left are Petty Officer M. Woodhall (King’s High School, Dunedin), Warrant Officer A. A. Kay (St. Bede’s College, Christchurch), Warrant Officer G. Whiting (St. Kevin’s College, Oamaru), and Warrant Officer D. J. Rawlence (Christchurch Boys’ High School). Petty Officer Woodhall has a Malayan blowpipe used for firing poisoned darts. This was given to him when he visited New Zealand troops stationed in Malaya.
