“The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL, August 25. The new season’s racing in Southland will open with the Eastern Southland Hunt Club's annual meeting at. Gore on Saturday. The fields are of handy size with several horses engaged twice. Column is expected to start In the President’s Handicap in preference to the Eastern Southland Steeplechase. The double will be on the President's Handicap and the Mandeville Hack Handicap. Indications are that the track will provide good going, with the sting out of it. Riding engagements include:— L. D.
