Bycrofts And Insurances Improve On ’Change
Bycrofts rose sharply on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday to change hands at 60s—5s up on last sales in Auckland and Wellington late last month. Last local sales were at 55s on July 13. New Zealand Insurance and New Zealand Insurance B both firmed Is, while National Insurance firmed 6d in one sale at 50s 6d.
Wilsons Malt rose 9d to 245, while Whalratane preference, N.Z. Breweries, P. and O. Stock, Ballins Industries, Tingeys, N.Z. Refrigerating and Matea Forests were also firmer.
British Tobacco declined 2s 6d to 34s 6d—lowest point this year. Email, Ivon Watkins, and Woolworths N.Z. were also easier.
