Franks Holds Two Lives (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN. August 25. W. Harcourt (WoUington), who last week won the New Zealand billiards championship, tonight suffered a setback In his attempt to complete the double when he was beaten by R. Franks (Canterbury) in the national snooker championship at Oamaru. Harcourt has now only one life left, while Franks is the only remaining player with two lives. Today's results were:— M. Murphy (Canterbury) beat J. Hansen (Auckland). 56-45, 56-31, 5758 59-36. Best breaks: Murphy 20 (2), 17 (2). 16, 12; Hansen 17, 13 (2), 12, 11. R. Franks (Canterbury) beat W. Harcourt (WelUngton), 6131, 48-65, 60-29, 75-41. Best breaks: Franks 26, 18. 11 (1). 11 (1). 10; Harcourt 40, 13. 12. Hansen beat B. Wltaon (Auckland), 27-56, 56-37, 5157, 55-35. 58-51. T. Yaaberg (Canterbury) beat D. Roberteon (North Otago), 86-33, 77-33, 63-36. Ben break,: Yeaburg 32, 17, 14 (3). 13; Robertson 13. Hansen and Wilson were eliminated.
