NAPIER, August 24.
Christchurch West High School, Napier Boys’ High School and Mount Albert Grammar School emerged as section winners this morning when the Napier tournament of the Secondary Schools’ Hockey Association was continued today. The weather was sunny and mild, but the grounds were still heavy. Papakura High School, playing a bustling type of hockey, held West for some time in the morning game. In the second spell West was superior, but not at any stage did the game rise above mediocre standards. _ Goals for West were scored by G. Fletcher, K. Feast, and W. Thomson (3). Christ’s College went down to Napier Boys’ High School 2-0. The game was a good one, with many exciting periods. The result was in doubt until towards the end of the second spell, when Napier netted for the second time. Mount Albert Grammar beat Napier Boys’ High School 2-0 in a semi-final game to decide the team to play West tomorrow in the final. By the luck of the draw West was' not required to play a semifinal, although it beat Christ s College, 6-0, in a friendly game.
