3RD FIELD REGIMENT
* Major V. G. Skilton Appointed Major V. G. Skilton, recruiting officer for the Southern Military District, has been, appointed as commander of the 3rd Field Regiment, Royal New Zealand Artillery. Major Skilton, the holder of a military cross, served in Korea with the 16th Field Regiment, and on his return to New Zealand was appointed area commander in Dunedin. He is the second regular officer to command the regiment. The other regular officer was Lieutenant - Colonel R. J. H. Webb, who is now on the New Zealand planning staff of S.E.A.T.O. in Bangkok.
