Mountaineering Club’s

Results

Seventy-five colour slides and 10 monochrome prints entered in the annual photographic competition of the Canterbury Mountaineering Club were judged recently by Messrs N. S. Bowie and L. A. Thomas, of Christchurch. Results were: Monochrome results.—General section, J. Ede (“Out of the Mist”) 1, M. A Kirby (“The Quiet One”) 2, R. B. Horner ("Sabine Seclusion”) 3; alpine section: J. Harrison (“Evening’s Vail”) 1, J. Harrison (“Rock and Ice”) 2, B. Fineran (“Beyond the Plateau”) 3. The J. Mitchell Cup for the best monochrome print was awarded to J. Harrison. Colour results—general section, M. A. Kirby (“Austrian Vista”)< 1, G. Harrow (“Hazy Heights”) 2, G. Harrow (“Tranquility”). 3; alpine section, R. Chapman (“Peaks of the Mist”) 1, G. Holdsworth (“Morning Solitude”) 2, J. Harrison (“Midnight Preview”) 3. The W. A. Kennedy Cup for the best colour slide was awarded to R. Chapman.
