CABINET FOR LEBANON
Most Parties Included (Rec. 10 p.m.) BEIRUT, August 2. The Lebanese Premier, Mr Saeb Salam, last night finally formed an 18-man Cabinet of "broad national union”—the largest Cabinet in Lebanese history. His choice included virtually every segment of Lebanon’s complicated political spectrum, with the exception of followers of the former President, Mr Camille Chamoun, Mr Salam’s bitter political foe, and the so-called “national bloc” of Mr Raymond Edde. Mr Salam announced his success in forming a Government shortly before midnight This ended more than four days of political bargaining and haggling over the distribution of portfolios in the post-election Cabinet To win the assent of various rival factions, Mr Salam had to expand his Cabinet to the unprecedented number of 18, including four State Ministers without major portfolios.
Another Hutton.— A. new Hutton made his cricket debut at Lord’s yesterday. Sir Leonard Hutton’s oldest son, 17-year-old Richard, scored 50 for the Rest against the Southern Schools, the ■Daily Mail” reported.—London, August 2.
