WIFE OF SHEEP FARMER
‘Mrs New Zealand? Chosen
(New Zealand Press Association) WANGANU, August 1. The wife of a sheep farmer on the Wanganui-Raetihi State highway and the mother of five young children, Mrs Jill Sicely, in Wellington this afternoon was declared “Mrs New Zealand” in a nation-wide contest for a true representative of a New Zealand wife and mother. The competition was open to wives and mothers between the ages of 25 and 50. Mrs Sicely was married when she was aged 19. She has five children, Jillian (aged seven), John (six), Christopher (five). Prudence (three), and Lisa (20 months). Mrs Sicely had two good luck omens before she left Wanganui for Wellington on Saturday. When she was leaving to board a rail-car for Wellington a black cat crossed her path, and then when she entered the rail-car she found she had been allocated seat 13.
