Macky, Logan Statement
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 1. The conflicting statements made by the rival for Macky, Logan, Caldwell shares must inevitably confuse shareholders more and more, said the chairman of Macky, Logan, Mr H. M. Rogerson, in a statement tonight. The directors of Macky, Logan, he said, were asked to make a further statement to assist shareholders. The directors did not propose to issue any further circular, but they felt that they should, in the interests of the general body of the shareholders, make the following statement:— “(1) The statement and recommendation made to the shareholders in the circular from the directors date July 28 were made after a careful consideration of both the second offer from Alliance Textiles and the second offer from Bing, Harris. “(2) Nothing that has transpired since that circular was sent has caused the directors to alter their opinion in any way. Their recommendation to shareholders remains as set forth in that circular.”
