Stormwater Disposal Work Completed

Completion of the first major Christchurch Drainage Board stormwater disposal work in Paparua County was reported last evening by the county chairman (Mr J. H. Weaver). He told the council meeting that it was the first such work completed since the board assumed responsibility in the district a year ago. "The recently completed outfall in Peer street, Waimairi county, should overcome flooding of Yaldhurst road properties in the Paparua county,” Cr. C. R. Weaver said. The drainage board had how called tenders for similar work to overcome stormwater trouble in Springs road and nearby streets in Hornby, he added.
