Mice In Naples Milk Supply
NAPLES, August 1. Police investigating the mystery of dead mice in milk bottles believe Naples may face a new war by a secret society that favours certain private traders. The society, the Camorra, is a Neapolitan version of Sicily’s underworld body, the Mafia, and has long fought the interest of the municipal authorities in the distribution of milk, which helps keep the price down. Dead mice, frogs, ground glass and various types of filth have been found in the milk bottles and police said they believe Camorra agents are contaminating the milk to discredit the company.
