The Rev. R. J. Okey has been appointed vicar of the parish of Te Ngawai South Canterbury. Mr Okey is a B.A. of the University of New Zealand. He was ordained by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K Warren) in 1955 and he served his first curacy in the parish of Papanui from 1955 to 1958. Since then he has been assistant curate in the parish of St John’s. Highfleld, Timaru. Mr A. D. Mclntosh, Secretary for External Affairs, arrived in Auckland yesterday by air from London where he attended a study group on the constitutional development of the Commonwealth. The group was set up on the decision of the Commonwealth Prime Ministers when they met in London in May.—(PA.)
